More than 100 family and friends members gathered for a special party to rejoice the 107th birthday of a lady in New York City.
Louise Signore was born on July 31, 1912, on Wednesday, she celebrated her long life.
She’s independent and lives alone and could be very open about her remarkable life and her secret to longevity.
The small powerhouse was born in Manhattan and shifted to the Bronx in 1926 and she has lived there ever since.
Even when she was in the 90s, Signore would swim every day at Orchard Beach, the Bronx’s only beach.
She can be proud of her travels all over the world.
“I used to be working for the (New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority), and in 1955, I took 3 months off, and I went to Europe,” she stated.
She spends plenty of time at a local senior center and loves dancing, as well as an occasional glass of red wine.
She mentioned she has never had serious surgery and has only damaged a bone once.
However, at 107 years old, she never imagined she’d live this long and attributes her longevity in part to an upbeat, adventurous spirit.
She says the important thing to her long life is pretty easy:
“Food and exercise and you need to have a system if you go to sleep at 11, do not go to at 9 o’ clock, 2 o’clock, that is not good,” she stated.
She additionally jokes that her decision to never get married might have contributed to her longevity.
