A Texas lady lived along with her dead mom’s remains for three years, police mentioned.
For years, Delissa Navonne Crayton, 47, and a child lived in a single bedroom, whereas the body was within the different room of the two-bedroom residence, based on the Seguin Police Department.
Crayton, 47, was arrested earlier this month on a child abuse charge after police found remains that seem to belong to Jacqueline Louise Crayton, police stated.
Police concluded that the 71-year-old lady suffered a non-life-threatening fall in 2016 in the house.
“Delissa Crayton failed to supply sufficient help leading investigators to believe Jaqueline died within a couple of days whereas lying on the ground,” according to an announcement from Seguin police.
Authorities are awaiting confirmation from Texas State University’s Forensic Anthropology Center that the remains belong to Jaqueline Crayton, police mentioned.
Delissa Crayton was charged with injury to a child younger than 15 on July 10, the department mentioned in a press release. She is being held on $200,000 bond at Guadalupe County jail, in keeping with jail records, which don’t list a lawyer for the woman.
The child has been placed with relatives while the case is investigated, officers stated.
Seguin is a city of about 27,000 that’s about 40 miles northeast of San Antonio.
